In this premier podcast episode of Side Effects May Include… with Dr Tai, hosted on GRM Daily Youtube channel, I sat down with the UK rap legend Giggs, who is both a close friend and a private client. We discussed our long-standing relationship starting from when I first meet Giggs as his GP, then we dived into Giggs’s personal journey with autism.
Giggs opens up about his childhood struggles in the 1980s school system, discovering his own neurodivergence in his 30s while seeking a diagnosis for his son and how fame ironically helped him socialise.
We also discussed the challenges of navigating the education system by parents of neurodivergent children. The conversation culminates in a discussion about the importance of better support systems and Giggs’s ambition to open a school designed to provide integrated education and neurodiversity assessments.
